Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has announced her resignation from the Trump administration, stating that she will leave her position in order to focus on a serious family health matter. He explained she is stepping down to remain at his side as he undergoes care for what she described as an extremely rare form of bone cancer, emphasizing the challenges he is expected to face in the months ahead.
In her formal resignation letter, Gabbard expressed deep gratitude to President Donald Trump for the opportunity to lead the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, noting her appreciation for the trust placed in her leadership over the past year and a half.
She also said she had informed the president of her decision prior to making it public, and confirmed that her final day in office will be June 30 as she prepares to step away from public service. She thanked colleagues and expressed hope for a smooth transition during the leadership change at ODNI. We wish them well moving forward.
