Obama Family’s Sad Announcement

Marian Robinson, the mother of former First Lady Michelle Obama, has died at the age of 86, according to her family. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, bringing heartfelt tributes from across the country.

Robinson became a familiar figure during the presidency of Barack Obama, when she moved into the White House in 2009 to help care for her granddaughters, Malia and Sasha. Despite living in the center of American political life, she remained intensely private and focused on family rather than public attention.

Often called the “first grandmother,” she played a quiet but important role in maintaining stability for the Obama household. She helped ensure the girls had a normal upbringing, balancing school, routines, and family life under constant security and media attention. Known for her humility, she reportedly continued doing everyday tasks herself, even while living in the White House.

Born in 1937 in Chicago, Robinson raised two children with her husband, Fraser Robinson, who died in 1991. Family members remember her as loving, strong, and grounded, with a sense of humor and a protective nature toward her grandchildren.

The Obama family described her as their foundation and emotional anchor. President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden also paid tribute, praising her warmth and kindness. Her legacy remains closely tied to the values and strength she passed on to her family.
