A Washington man wanted for years in connection with a fatal DUI crash has finally been arrested, nearly eight years after the incident occurred
Jerry C. Denson, 36, was taken into custody on April 2 in West Seattle and booked into the King County Jail. Authorities said Denson had been on the Washington State Patrol’s Most Wanted list after failing to appear in court following a deadly crash on Interstate 5 in Kent on St. Patrick’s Day in 2017.
According to investigators, Denson was driving when his vehicle overturned on the freeway. The crash killed 28-year-old Joy Marie Brannon, who was riding in the back seat. She was thrown from the vehicle during the rollover and was struck by several passing cars. Brannon later died from her injuries.
A blood test conducted after the crash allegedly showed that Denson had consumed alcohol and used marijuana before driving. When he failed to appear in court, a warrant was issued for his arrest in October 2017.
After years of searching, detectives located and arrested Denson in West Seattle. He now faces the original vehicular homicide charge, along with reckless endangerment. Officials said the arrest reflects their continued commitment to pursuing serious criminal cases, regardless of how much time has passed since the alleged offense.
