President Donald Trump remains in “excellent health” and is “fully fit” to carry out the responsibilities of commander in chief, according to a comprehensive medical evaluation released by the White House physician.
The May 29 report, authored by Dr. Sean Barbabella, said Trump underwent an extensive examination that included advanced cardiac testing, imaging, cancer screening and numerous preventive-health assessments involving a team of medical specialists. The physician concluded that Trump demonstrated strong overall physical and cognitive performance and remained capable of performing the demanding duties of the presidency.
Trump weighed 238 pounds during the examination and measured 6 feet 3 inches tall, producing a body-mass index of 29.7. Physicians recommended continued attention to diet, physical activity and weight management.
The report also noted minor bruising on Trump’s hands, which physicians attributed to frequent handshaking and aspirin therapy. Trump was also reported to have slight lower-leg swelling associated with his previously disclosed chronic venous insufficiency, with the condition described as improved compared with the previous year.
His cardiovascular, pulmonary and neurological evaluations reportedly showed no significant abnormalities. The report also documented a perfect score of 30 out of 30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a screening tool commonly used to evaluate cognitive functioning.
Another notable finding was Trump’s cholesterol level. His total cholesterol was measured at 143, substantially lower than the 223 recorded in 2018. The report noted that his cholesterol management includes medications such as rosuvastatin and ezetimibe, in addition to aspirin.
The physician’s final assessment stated that Trump’s “cognitive and physical performance are excellent” and that he is “fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.”
The examination represents another publicly disclosed assessment of Trump’s health during his second term. Presidential medical disclosures remain closely watched by the public, although presidents are not legally required to release their complete medical records.
The latest report provides the White House’s current medical assessment while also documenting several areas—including weight management and continued treatment—that Trump’s physicians intend to monitor.
